Two months before wedding day, when we were having lunch at Warung Leko - Grand Indonesia, mas Damar (now is my husband ^_^) suddenly talked this to me:
Mas Damar: "Dede..there're 2 news..which one will you choose first? The bad news or the good news?"
Dede: "Mm..bad news..what is it?" *curious*
Mas Damar: "I'm afraid we can't go to Bali for our honeymoon.. I didn't get the tickets.."
Dede: "Whaaattt?" *shocked*
Mas Damar: "Mm..so we will go to somewhere else for our honeymoon.. Maybe Puncak?" *big grin*
Dede: "PUNCAK??? Why didn't you find other flight, Mas?" *still in shock and almost cried*
Mas Damar: (Handed 3 sheets of paper)
Dede: (Read carefully the papers that he gave to me and more shock..) "Mm..Kualalumpur - Incheon.. Huaaa..we're going to Seoul?" *still in shock and try to confirm*
Mas Damar: "Yes, Dede!" *angel smile*
Dede: "Huaaa..." *feeling grateful*
Mas Damar: "Say thanks to Audrey because she has helped us in reservation flight and accomodation."
Dede: "Hehe..okay.." *blush*
Yup! Here we are.. Having honeymoon in Seoul, South Korea for 5 days 4 nights.. What an amazing honeymoon. Thanks my Mas.. Thanks God for this opportunity. Hohoho.. We stayed in Ibis Myeong-dong Hotel. Simple bedroom & bathroom but comfort! :)
We had our honeymoon from July 3th to July 7th 2012. The first day, we visited Myeong-dong shopping area and had a lunch in one of Korean restaurant in this area. I forgot the name of restaurant but, the food was very yummy.. We ordered Dak-galbi Bibimbap..
After lunch, we went to Namdaemun Market. It's Korea's traditional market. You can find clothes, bags, traditional hanbok, foods, etc. But, sorry, we had no photo of Namdaemun Market because not long after we arrived there, the rain was coming!
Next stop was Myeong-dong Cathedral. Myeong-dong Cathedral is the main Catholic church in Korea and is also considered as the symbol of Myeong-dong. Click here for the details of Myeong-dong Cathedral. By the time we visited Myeong-dong Cathedral, the area was in renovation but we can still visit the Church.
Then we visited COEX Mall. COEX Mall is underground Mall in Seoul. Besides restaurant, shops, and banks, this place also has Kimchi Museum and Grand Aquarium. Click here for the details of COEX Mall. But, unfortunately, when we arrived there, the aquarium and the Kimchi Museum were closed. Haha.. So we just did window shopping and had a dinner. Then we went back to our hotel.
The second day, we visited Gyeongbokgung Palace. This place is located in the northern of Seoul and was built by the Joseon Dynasty in 1395. Compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyongheegung (Western Palace), Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful and remains the largest of all five palaces. The admission fee is 3.000 won/person. You also can watch "The exchanging Guard of Gwanghwangmun Gate" every 1 hour from 10.00 A.M - 03.00 P.M. Click here for the details of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Next stop was Cheonggyecheon Stream. This area used to exist merely as an overpass neglected in 1970 until it was restored (by Mr.Lee Myung Bak) in 2005 then becoming a haven of natural beauty amidst the bustle of city life. Many people come to this place just for relaxation or chit-chat with friends. Don't worry, this place is very clean! You also can throw coin and make a wish.. Hohoho.. Click here for more details.
From Cheonggyecheon Stream, we moved to Insadong. This place is full of souvenir shops and restaurant. You also can buy Turkey ice cream. Tastes yummy! Sorry again, we didn't take a picture of Turkey ice cream because we were to thirsty.. :D
After that, we visited N-Seoul Tower and Teddy Bear Museum which are located in Mt.Namsan. You can buy combined ticket to visit N-Seoul Tower and Teddy Bear Museum for only 14.000 won/person. You also can see Locks of Love. Ohohoho.. Click here for more details of this place.
Then..next stop was Namsangol Hanok Village which is located in the area of Pil-dong neighborhood in Jung-gu, a central district of Seoul, South Korea. This place offers one opportunity to experience a wide cross-section of Joseon-era citizenry and activities. The admission fee is free. Click here for the details. Well..for me, this place looks like Taman Mini.. :D Please wait for the photos.. I forgot to save in my USB. Hehe..
Then, in the evening, we watched Nanta Cookin' in Myeong-dong shopping area near Ibis Myeong-dong Hotel. This show was started in October 1997. 'Nanta' is a non-verbal performance of free rhythmical movements that dramatize customary Korean percussions in a strikingly comedic stage show. Integrating unique Korean traditional drumbeats in a western performance style, Nanta storms into a huge kitchen where four capricious cookes are preparing a wedding banquet. Click here for more details of Nanta Cookin'. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures while the show was playing.
Hohoho..I think my posting is too long at this time. Hehe.. So please wait for the next part. I will continue to write it as soon as possible. Hehehe.. See ya! :)
